Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a diagnostic and digital imaging service that uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of the organs and tissues within the body. During an MRI scan, the patient rests on a table that is padded for comfort, and is then placed under the magnetic field of the machine. This technology does not use radiation. When inside an MRI machine, the magnetic field temporarily realigns the hydrogen atoms in the body.
Whether you need a knee MRI, hip MRI, or a closer look at another body part, our IAC and MRI machines are used to detect and diagnose:
- Meniscal tears
- Rotator cuff tears
- Bone fractures
- Ganglion cysts
- Labral Tears
- Lesions
- Hip Conditions
- Back and neck pain
- Radiculopathy
- Joint issues
MRI scans are typically completed within 40 minutes per body part, but your condition will determine the exact duration. Access Sports Medicine has partnered with ProScan Reading Services to provide accurate radiology reports on MRIs within 24-48 hours.
