Ankle sprain is the most common sports injury and can affect anyone at anytime. According to the American orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, about 25,000 ankle sprains occur in the United States each day.
On Tuesday, April 16th at 7pm, join Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics and Portsmouth Regional Hospital for an interactive discussion on Ankle Injuries. Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. David Davis will discuss the most common ankle injuries and how they are diagnosed and treated. He will describe the recovery process and long-term prognosis following an ankle sprain or other injury. Physical Therapist Andrea Hrynchuk, PT will explain why proper strengthening of the leg muscles can help prevent ankle injuries and can aid in healing and recovery. The discussion is part of the ongoing Community Wellness Series at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. The session will take place in the classrooms at PRH and is free of charge.
