Exeter, NH – Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics will be hosting a Free Interactive Sports Medicine Event on Wednesday, September 28th at One Hampton Road in Exeter. The event will take place from 6:00-7:30pm and will consist of two brief presentations and a practical component where attendees will have the opportunity learn and try exercises to help improve flexibility and prevent common sports-related injuries.
Dr. Kevin Heaton, former Team Physician for Boston University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology will discuss “Concussions in Youth Sports.” Dr. Heaton will be followed by former Assistant Team Physician for the Boston Celtics, Dr. A. David Davis who will be presenting the “Treatment and Prevention of Common Ankle Injuries.”
The second half of the evening will include a practical component taught by Mike Thompson, BS, ATC, a certified athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach with Access Acceleration. Mike will demonstrate several basic injury prevention exercises and work with the attendees as they learn and attempt the exercises themselves. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and proper footwear if they plan to participate in the interactive portion. Light refreshments will be provided.
