EXETER, NH – For over 15 years, the Exeter PTO has encouraged health and wellness in the community with the Get Fit in May 5k Road Race. The annual event began in 1999 with the support of the Founding Sponsor Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics. To this day, Access Sports Medicine is proud to support the race as the founding sponsor for the 16th consecutive year.
The race takes place each year in mid-May at Lincoln Street Elementary School and is a USATF certified 5k run or fitness walk and kid’s fun run. This year, the event is being held Saturday May 16th at 8:30 am.
Over the years, the Get Fit in May event has evolved and grown to include a health and wellness fair in addition to the road race and fun run. Patrons have the opportunity to visit booths of various local businesses promoting health and wellness in the community. The day features music, face painting, a rock climbing wall, demonstrations, runner refreshments, an ice cream truck, and several other health-themed activities. All the proceeds from the event will support the Exeter Elementary PTO.
Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics understands how important it is to get involved with and give back to the local community. The Exeter PTO 5K Get Fit in May 5K Road Race is one of the many community events that Access helps to support each year.
