Portsmouth, NH – For the past ten years, Seacoast are yoga teachers have collaborated to offer free outdoor classes in Prescott Park in downtown Portsmouth. Every Tuesday throughout the summer beginning at noon, free yoga classes will be taught by volunteer yoga teachers, including Access Yoga’s Carter Siegel, M.Ed., RYT 500.
This is her second time participating in this project and Carter is excited to bring her skills and expertise back to Prescott Park.
“I am excited to share in this experience this year because I have always felt that when we can bring yoga to those who might not otherwise try it, we may ignite a spark to motivate a person for practicing and exploring more of the world of yoga,” said Carter. “It’s a beautiful setting, it’s open to all levels and it’s free!”
Carter will be teaching the class on Tuesday July 28th from 12:00pm until 1:00pm, weather permitting. Yoga in the Park classes are suitable for all ages and ability levels. This weekly free class showcases a wide range of yoga styles, including power yoga, vinyasa yoga, Bikram yoga, Iyengar yoga and children’s yoga, boomer yoga, ashtanga yoga, and more.
Yoga in the Park was created to embrace and celebrate the Seacoast yoga community and offers residents the perfect opportunity to sample many different and diverse styles of yoga they might not otherwise try. Yoga in the Park meets at the whale statue by the stage Lawn in Prescott Park on the corner of Mary Street. Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat, towel, or blanket to practice on, and sunglasses.
