Exeter, NH – On Friday, November 9, 2012, JP Sanborn, the President and Founder of Journeyman basketball, and Alex Price, President of the Journeyman Players Association delivered a framed jersey and league photo to Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics in Exeter. The jersey was given as a token of appreciation and presented to Sports Medicine physician Dr. Kevin Heaton and Eric Cimon, Community Relations Director for Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics. Earlier this year, the Physicians of Access Sports Medicine made a generous donation to Journeyman Basketball to help pay for 200 new jerseys which will be worn by the 500 athletes that participate Journeyman Basketball program each year.
Journeyman Basketball is a 501C(3) non-profit community organization designed to involve youth in learning to discover their personal potential as a person and player as well as how to function as part of a team. Participants are expected to become responsible to themselves, their teammates, their families and the community.
Through the use of basketball, they instill not just game skills, but also life skills. Players learn not only ball handling, shooting and other fundamentals of the game, but also how to handle responsibility. There are fees for players which help defray the costs of practice space, equipment, uniforms, referees and more. Thanks to the generosity of a number of area businesses players are able to participate in the program at a reduced cost.
Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics is proud to support Journeyman Basketball and the positive impact that the organization has on so many young athletes in the Exeter area. Journeyman Basketball is one of the many community organizations that Access helps to support each year. For more information about Journeyman Basketball visit www.journeymanbasketball.com.
