Heartfelt congratulations to Nurse Kim Mihelich, who was recognized for her innovative and compassionate approach to helping patients prepare for treatment and heal following their procedure. She saw a need to provide this resource for patients to help curb the anxiety they might have about missing or not remembering a step they needed to take. Her instructional suite of 19 pre- and post-op care videos that she’s put together will undoubtedly catch on as common practice in healthcare practices around the country, and we’re so proud of her for leading the charge here at Access.
Nurse Kim’s videos are tailored to specific procedures performed at Access Surgery Center. Areas of focus include:
- Feet
- Ankles
- Knees
- Hips
- Elbows
- Hands, and
- Shoulders
The videos—which are shared as a private to a private Access Sports Med YouTube channel—walk patients through the specific exercises they can do at home to help treat and heal their injuries. The content includes everything from surgery preparation to deep vein thrombosis prevention and pain control.
